This Vibrant painting was created on a piece of property of a patron and friend who was also a student of The Artist. Located in Putnam County, New York, it is a masterful study of how golden sunlight penetrates nature and imbues the scene with glorious spectral color.

Seen in silhouette is the apple tree which is the central subject of the scene. She has already yielded her lovely fruit, but is still very much alive and filled with shimmering energy.  The pine trees lend a dark foil and emphasize the striking light. The strong rocks anchor the trees to the Earth while the burnt oranges of the ground contrast beautifully with the various greens of the trees.
