Twilight is rarely blue, but on a sunny day the sky usually is. On this beautiful Spring evening, the thickness of the trees can be felt by the preponderance of reflected light from the sky.

Much of the light of the setting sun is absorbed by the lush trees.  As a result, the scene is bathed in a calm, subtle blue. People can be seen enjoying a variety of outdoor activities.  A mother plays ball with her toddler, as a man walks his dog and people gather in groups to enjoy each other’s company. The pond beautifully reflects the colors of nature.  John Varriano applies his paint boldly onto a thick weaved canvas giving this painting a full and rich effect.
